Artist Gift Guide 2021
Dec 01, 2021Author: Charla Maarschalk
Curated for you or the artist in your life (or you).
What do you give the artist in your life? Look no further. Here are some unique ideas to bring joy on Christmas morning.
1 / Spotify list
Make an easy listening inspirational music list and name it after your favorite artist -- which should probably be the person you gift it to. Music choices can be a personal thing, but an artist is always looking for new inspiration, and a music playlist -- especially if you create a themed set -- can be the perfect gift.
2/ GOLDEN GRIPR TUBE OPENER
If practical is your motto, this is the gift you should gift! And it makes a perfect stocking stuffer, or you can even tie into the ribbon of a gift for an aritst. This strange item opens stubborn paint tubes without breaking your teeth!
3 / Leather Brush Roll
Who doesn't love the feel of real, earthy products in their hands? Most artists won't want to spend money on something like this as it feels impractical... which makes it a perfect gift!
4 / Big Magic
A book about inspiration
5 / Inside the Painter's Studio
6 / A Beautiful Thermos
Not every gift has to be art-themed. When artists are in the studio and deep in flow, they often forget to eat or drink. Coffee or tea will almost always run cold. A thermos helps to protect our delicious beverages and help us to work longer without interruption.
Bonus: Make this into a gift box by adding treats that can be stored in the studio, or chocolates for a much-needed energy and inspiration boost while working.
7 / Table Top Easel
This can work for the artist who uses the excuse of not having a big enough space to create. I like it as a tool that I can set up in my kitchen and work around my busy family. Sometimes it's a bigger task to break away from home duties and get to the studio to work. This little setup can help artists have regular practice at home.
8 / POCHADE BOX
These little boxes hold all the tools we need to travel and paint. They range in price depending on what your budget is, and they are good for storing oil, acrylic, and watercolor paints. If you'd like to make the gift even sweeter you can buy some supplies to go inside.
9 / iPad with pencil
The iPad with the pencil and the Procreate app installed is an amazing gift if your budget is high for the artist in your life. This gift set will replace the sketchbook of a painter and revolutionalize the way they prep and plan their art pieces. (You can read a more extensive post about how I use it in my practice here on the blog.)
10 / Online Art Classes
I couldn't end this list without including this as an idea. Bold School offers classes from beginner to advanced levels for the artist in your life that's looking to break out of realism and find creative freedom in bold color.
We also have the option to purchase Bold Color Bootcamp as a gift!
Merry Christmas and happy shopping!!
Creativity awaits!
